April has always been an enthusiast for movement and connection… Whether she is basing or flying, teaching, making music, dancing salsa or jujitsu, or simply clowning in the community circus…..April is doin’ it with ENTHUSIASM!
A martial artist from the age of 12 to 23, April studied and taught Jiu Jitsu, Chinese Kenpo, Indonesian Silat, Boxing, Kickboxing, Sport Karate and was the undefeated Colorado state Jiu Jitsu (grappling) youth champion for three consecutive years. After shifting her focus away from combative movement arts, she spent the next several years dabbling in other movement arts like rock climbing, latin ballroom dance, primal movement patterns, aerial silks and yoga. But when she discovered Acroyoga in 2013 it was 'love at first star’, and her obsession had to be shared. She is a founder of the budding Acroyoga community in Nicaragua.
All of April's past movement experience drew her to the powerful, dynamic, creative expression of the AcroyogaMontreal style, and she couldn't be more grateful to have had the chance to train and share with such an incredible community.
In April's classes, you can expect a focus on fun and creativity, set on a foundation of emphasis on good alignment, safety, and communication…. and, of course enthusiasm! If it is fun and it is safe, you are doing it right! Let’s play!
