Heidi is a teacher and innovator of acroyoga best known for pioneering the worlds of hands-free acroyoga and role-switching or 'hybrid' partner flows. Ever compelled to refine her own balance, Heidi practices long-distance highlining, contact improvisation, hand-balancing, and hand-2-hand. These, in turn, help her to think outside the box for the creation of original partner sequences. Heidi's teaching emphasizes breath, a calm nervous system, spinal awakening, articular sustainability, deep core integration, and creating within safe boundaries. She weaves these principles into her private handstand coaching, group acroyoga workshops, and performance work. She loves to facilitate adult learning and pulls from 10+ years' teaching experience to adapt her movement pedagogy to people of varying age, background, and experience levels. A language nerd, Heidi teaches in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish and loves it when students fill in for her missing words.
Heidi holds a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley. She completed her yoga teaching certification in 2012 with Ashtanga Yoga Montreal. A member of AcroYoga Montreal since 2011, Heidi co-teaches AYMTL teacher trainings alongside Jessica Goldberg, Eugene Poku and Jill Campbell. She performs with Cirque Branché and a number of small circus companies.
